Affordability without wobbly output is the pitch here. Pollo 1.6 delivers steady motion, controllable framing, and a first-to-last frame workflow that keeps short clips predictable enough for real production.
With Pollo 1.6 on Pollo API, developers can wire text-to-video, image-to-video, and start-and-end frame generation into their apps, choosing resolution, clip length, and aspect ratio per request.
Key Features of Pollo 1.6 API
Start-and-End Frame Control
Feed a starting image and a matching tail image, and the model builds the motion between them, giving reliable transitions and controlled openings and endings.
Two Quality Modes
A faster draft path handles quick iteration, while a higher-detail path sharpens texture and motion for finished shots, so you trade speed for polish per request.
Flexible Framing
Vertical, square, and widescreen aspect ratios come built in, so one model serves stories, feeds, and landscape players without cropping or reformatting after generation.
Steady, Controlled Motion
Subjects and camera hold together across the clip, avoiding the drift and warping that break short generations, which keeps each five or ten second output usable.
Text, Image, and Reference Guidance
Start from a prompt, animate a still, or steer with a reference image, letting the same model cover idea-first and asset-first pipelines.
Use Cases of Pollo 1.6 API
Budget Batch Video: Generate large volumes of short clips at lower cost, ideal for content tools that need throughput more than flagship pricing.
Frame-Locked Transitions: Define an opening and closing image so a product, character, or scene morphs along a controlled path between two known states.
Vertical Social Clips: Produce ready-to-post 9:16 and 1:1 moments for short-form feeds without a separate reformatting step.
Still-to-Motion Tools: Turn a single uploaded photo into a moving shot while keeping the original composition intact for photo animation apps.
Draft-Then-Finish Pipelines: Iterate quickly in the faster mode, then re-render the winning prompt in the higher-detail mode for delivery.
Explainer and Demo Snippets: Build short, steady clips that show a concept or step clearly, suited to product education and onboarding flows.
Storyboard Previews: Give creative teams fast moving previews of a described shot before committing time to premium models.
How to Use Pollo 1.6 API
Get an API Key: Create a Pollo API account and generate your API key from the developer dashboard.
Choose the Model: Send requests to the Pollo 1.6 endpoint at /generation/pollo/pollo-v1-6.
Add Your Inputs: Provide a prompt for text-to-video, or an image (plus optional imageTail) for image and start-and-end workflows, then set resolution (480p, 720p, 1080p), length (5 or 10), mode (basic or pro), and aspectRatio.
Generate and Retrieve: Submit the task, poll the returned task status, and download the finished video once it succeeds.
Prompting Best Practices for Pollo 1.6 API
Write for control. Name the subject, one clear action, the framing, and the mood, and when using start-and-end frames, keep both images consistent so the motion between them reads naturally.
A Simple Prompt Formula
Subject + one clear action + camera or framing + setting and lighting + style
What You Should Notice
Keep One Action: Focus each clip on a single movement so the five or ten seconds stay steady and coherent.
Match Your Frames: When guiding with start and tail images, use similar lighting and subject so the transition looks intentional.
Set Framing Early: Pick vertical, square, or widescreen up front to match where the clip will play.
Choose Mode By Goal: Draft in the faster mode, then re-render final shots in the higher-detail mode.
State The Style: Name realism, illustration, or a specific look so the output holds a consistent direction.
Example Prompts
Latte Art Pour
"A barista tilts a steel pitcher and pours milk into dark espresso, a white rosetta blooming across the surface. Overhead close-up, warm cafe light, slow steady motion, clean realistic style."
Controlled Bloom Transition
"A tight flower bud opens petal by petal into a full blossom, dew catching morning light. Static macro framing, soft natural light, gentle continuous motion, realistic style using start and end frame guidance."
Vertical Market Moment
"A vendor arranges bright oranges into a neat pyramid at a busy morning market, hands moving quickly. Vertical 9:16 framing, natural daylight, lively but stable motion, documentary realistic style."
Potter at the Wheel
"Wet clay rises and narrows under two steady hands on a spinning wheel, water glinting on the surface. Side close-up, soft studio light, smooth focused motion, grounded realistic style."
